The Craft
Not every aging deck needs to be replaced, and not every cosmetic refresh addresses the real risk. We assess the visible surfaces and the supporting structure, prioritize safety and water management, then build a repair scope around what can responsibly remain.
How We Work
From first visit to final fit
Condition assessment
We review age, symptoms, access, prior coatings, and visible structure, then identify areas that may require exploratory work.
Repair plan
Must-do safety and structural work is separated from finish and upgrade options, with assumptions documented.
Repair and protect
Approved repairs are completed, the site is cleaned, and maintenance guidance is provided for the retained and new materials.

The Details
Where the craftsmanship shows
Diagnosis before demolition
We inspect surface wear, movement, connections, ledger conditions, stairs, guards, and accessible framing before recommending repair or replacement.
Safety items come first
Loose guards, compromised stairs, decay, inadequate connections, and unstable framing are separated from cosmetic options so decisions are clear.
A finish suited to the substrate
Preparation and coating recommendations account for wood condition and prior finishes; no coating is presented as a substitute for structural repair.

Common Questions
Good to know
Can my deck be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, but the answer depends on the ledger, posts, beams, joists, connections, stairs, and guard system—not just the visible boards. We verify conditions before making that recommendation.
Do you refinish decks?
Yes, when the structure and substrate are suitable. Preparation, repairs, weather, previous coatings, and the selected finish all affect the final scope.
Can you match old boards and railings?
We match dimensions, profile, and species where practical, while explaining when weathering or discontinued products will prevent an invisible match.
