3-Season Additions

The feel of a screened porch, with the flexibility of windows.

The Craft

A 3-season addition is a porch-style enclosure with windows, without an insulated building envelope. Think of the openness of a screened porch with more control over breeze and changing weather. It is a place for morning coffee, relaxed meals, and time close to the yard during comfortable parts of the year; it is not designed to perform like a conditioned room in the house.

How We Work

From first visit to final fit

01

Understand the space

We discuss the seasons you want to use it, exposure, access, and whether a new build or an existing-porch conversion makes sense.

02

Plan the enclosure

We resolve layout, windows, screens, structure, roof details, permitting needs, and the final scope before construction.

03

Build and walk through

We complete the enclosure and finishes, coordinate agreed inspections, and review window operation and care at handoff.

The Details

Where the craftsmanship shows

Windows when you want shelter

An enclosure helps manage wind and rain, while operable windows and screens preserve the outdoor connection.

Honest seasonal comfort

This is an uninsulated porch-style space. Comfort follows outdoor conditions, so it is planned for seasonal enjoyment rather than year-round indoor temperatures.

A natural extension of the porch

Proportions, sight lines, finishes, and the connection to the yard keep the space feeling like a porch rather than a conventional room addition.

Common Questions

Good to know

What is a 3-season addition?

It is an uninsulated porch-style enclosure with windows. It offers more weather protection than a screened porch while keeping a strong connection to the outdoors.

Is a 3-season addition insulated?

No. Our 3-season offering is not an insulated space. If insulation and broader seasonal comfort are priorities, discuss a 4-season addition with us.

Can I use it all winter?

Comfort depends on the weather, exposure, and your preferences. We do not promise indoor temperatures or year-round comfort in an uninsulated enclosure.

Can my screened porch be converted?

Possibly. We need to review its framing, supports, roof, water management, and connection to the house before defining a conversion.
